My Quintessential OB-6 Synthesizer Sound Set Now Available on Gumroad
Today I introduce my Quintessential OB-6 Synthesizer Sound Set. This audio demo is a selection from my original Sequential/Oberheim OB6 patches. The bank download includes 100 patches can be purchased at Gumroad. The patches come from a variety of influences: Arena Rock, Pop, Trance, Darkwave, Freestyle, Dub, Classic Hits, New Wave, Electro. As well as some funky weird stuff the OB-6 has coaxed from my imagination. Hope you'll enjoy these awe-inspiring sonics coming from the OB-6 as much as I do. All audio recorded direct to iPhone via Roland GO:MIXER Pro-X. Only on-board synth fx used, no additional effects. Some normalization in post processing.

Source Audio Artifakt [FX w/ Synthesizers #18] No Talk Audio Demo
Artifakt by Source Audio. Lo-fi, low grade reverb, bit-reduction, tape hissy, AM Radio goodess. Today I'm running some synths and electro gear through the Artifakt pedal, see what modes I've been vibing with. Pedal was edited all manually - on computer. No presets were used - So you'll see a pic of pedal starting point settings w/ each audition. Dry audio preceeds FX auditions...well usually. Recorded direct to Tascam DR-05, no other effects or mastering beyond routine normalization.

Sequential Drumtraks Drum Machine Repair
Today I'm investigating issues with a Sequential Drumtraks. While it is making sounds, the display is glitching out and the control functions are not working. In the end it was only incidental I was able to get it working again, for reasons I don't fully understand. The same phenomenon happens with my Drumulator, that's how I knew what to check for. It's my hope posting this video, that someone more knowledgable will be able to comment about this phenomenon.
This video is posted for general information about my experiences. Always observe safety working on electronics, and never tinker around inside power supplies without first unplugging the power cord. If you're not sure about anything, there's no shame in taking your instrument to a qualified service technician.
Since filming the video, I've discovered the batteries are still made in Japan. Also, the numbers on the battery may or may not necessarily be a date code. My new battery says 2132, so maybe it was made in 2021? Since the manufacture date and date installed may differ by a couple of years, I now write a date on the battery with a sharpie when I install it.

GSE Six 8HP Filter Modules Shoot-Out [comparison] [vs]
Today it's the battle of the 8HP filter modules!
Six of 'em, says the squinty-eyed man with no name.
101-VCF, SH2-VCF, JP6-VCF, Delta VCF, Pro VCF, and 4023 VCF.
You know them, but what are some of the sonic differences?
Watch out, some skreechy resonance ahead. They're filters after all :D

Details
Osc | 101-VCO square + saw + sub
Buffered Multiple | My one-off Buffy Bot is used in 1-into-6 config.
The buffered osc signal is going to each of the 6 filters.
Envelope | 2xADSR is stack-cabled to the various CV inputs.
The CVs are zero'd out until each filter gets dialed up.
Delay | Timefactor
Reverb | Big Sky

Pro VCF Eurorack Filter First Look [Demo #1]
The Pro VCF is a faithful adaptation of a well-known 4-pole synthesizer filter in Eurorack.
The core of this design lies an Alfa AS3320 filter chip based on the original Curtis.
Let's put the Pro VCF through some paces.

Roland Juno-106 w/ Gravitational Slingshot Chips Overview + Demo
Today I got a special package from Syntaur, the USA distributor of Analogue Renaissance products. It's a set of six 80017A-GS VCF/VCA replacement upgrade chips for the Roland Juno-106 synthesizer. What's involved to install them? How do they sound? I'll demonstrate - but you be the judge!
