E-MU ESI-32 for Pure Lofi Sampler Bliss [Demo]

Today I'm exploiting the ESI-32 rack sampler for lofi/crunchy/funky sound in multi-timbral mode. Drums were sampled at mono 22K then downsampled to 12K bandwidth, everything else down to 8K. All you're hearing is the ESI-32 sampler including built-in chorus, and internal LFO applied to autopan/vibrato. The audio was recorded direct to Tascam DR-05, no additional effects or mastering.

ESI-32: bit of an underdog, in that early 90s era when samplers started to overcome their limitations of memory, bandwidth, storage media, and processing capabilities. At a fraction of the current selling price for other vintage samplers of the late 80s that preceded it.

My DC571 Lo-Fi Dual Compressor Has Returned

Bringing this one back out of retirement.
Currently available in my Reverb Store.

There's nothing like an Analog Compressor to warm up your sound.
Make percussion grooves a little punchier, bass a bit snappier, and glue the mix together.
My DC571 module has TWO fully independent channels of no-nonsense audio compression made especially to give your Eurorack some of that subltle swingin' groove.
You can even cascade channel 1 output into channel 2 for even more compression.
The DC571 uses an 80s design dual compander chip (still in production) to work its mojo.
Each channel has controls for input level attenuation, output make-up gain, and a true bypass switch.
The DC571 is hand-crafted in USA in limited quantities.

Oberheim Matrix-12 Synthesizer Percussion Demo

OMG that Snare sounds familiar. No drum machines or samplers were used in this demo. No, today you're getting a full dose of Oberheim Matrix-12 percussion sounds. Watch as I corral a group of freshly programmed percussion sounds together using MIDI assignments in multi-mode. The Beatstep Pro is in full trigger control. Muting tracks is done on the M12 channel volume page. Recorded direct to Tascam DR-05 via Mackie mixer. No effects mucking about whatsoever. I should be making the patches available sometime soon. Thanks for watching!

My DC571 Dual Compressor for Eurorack is Now Available

My DC571 Dual Compressor for Eurorack is now available in my Reverb Store. To operate the DC571:
1) plug in the audio input and output, making sure some sounds are present
2) set the switch up (compress) to activate the effect
3) turn the input knob until you hear clicks/pops (clipping) and then back it down a little
4) set the switch down (bypass) to compare the volume of the original signal
5) set the switch back up and turn the output make-up gain knob until the volume is the same as when you started. You may need to repeat steps 4 & 5, and it’s definitely ok to increase the output a little bit more if so desired! For even more compression, the channels can be cascaded in series. Do this by patching the output of channel 1 into the input of channel 2.

Future Retro Transient+ Eurorack Demo 01

I just got my Transient module back from Future Retro, they have upgraded it to the Transient Plus! The turnaround on this was super-fast! I made a Linndrum-based instrument w/ kick/stick/hihat w/ some modulations including pitch changes. This demo also uses Basimilus and Hats909 as well. Enjoy.

DC571 Dual Channel Audio Compressor Eurorack Prototype

Headphones or quality audio monitors recommended. In this video I demonstrate a prototype of my new DC571 Analog Dual Channel Eurorack Audio Compressor. It will make your bass lines a little punchier, and your percussion grooves a bit more groovy. The way to operate it is simple - the stronger the input signal, the more it compresses. Use the output make-up gain knob to bring the level back up. Both channels are completely independent of one another - so use it for stereo purposes or for two different instruments if you desire. These will be hand-crafted in limited quantities for sale soon, it will have a black front panel w/ white silkscreen lettering. More details on price and availability to be announced later.

Roland TR-606 Drum Machine + Alpha Juno-1 Synthesizer

Happy 606 Day #606day! In this video I synchronize the Roland TR-606 drum machine to an Arturia Beatstep Pro which controls an Alpha Juno-1. This simple setup is all you really need for electro music. Juno-1 plays a basic bass pattern. On-the-fly I make a few changes to pattern, drum mix, bass transposition, filter, envelope, and throw in some chords played by hand. A Timefactor delay module adds some groove. Recorded direct to Tascam DR-05.
